Finding the IP address
Before you can join your Rust server, you’ll need the server’s IP address and port number.- Login to the game control panel
- Locate the IP:port below the name of the server
- Click on the highlighted area and it will copy the IP to your clipboard
Joining the multiplayer Rust server
Method 1: Server Browser (Easiest)
- Launch Rust from Steam
- Click Play Game from main menu
- Select server type (Official, Community, or Modded)
- Use filters to find your server
- Click Connect on your chosen server
Method 2: Direct IP Connection
- Open Rust and go to main menu
- Press F1 to open console
- Type:
client.connect IP:PORT - Press Enter to connect
Method 3: Steam Friends
- Open Steam friends list
- Right-click friend playing Rust
- Select Join Game
